I have been noticing that my 700 CFI-4 backfires sometimes when pull starting, mostly hot, and mostly after a water break [5mins]. I am thinking a leaking injector, any other thoughts?
Maybe its how you shut it off? try letting it idle for a couple seconds before you shut it off. My thought is it loads it as you kill the spark. My 08 D7 will do it about once a day if I don't remember to let everything "stabilize" before hitting the kill switch.
Hey Polster, have any luck getting rid of your problem? Just curious as I noticed that you live in MT. You're a little closer to the pow than what I am in SE Nebraska!
StillD, Tried what you suggested and no backfires that ride, I think you are on to something. Rode the Pro last week at West Yellowstone, snow was deep but like concrete on two top, never seen the like. headed to my sweet spot this weekend, heard they got a foot yesterday with more to come. Do the snow dance
My Dragon 800 RMK will backfire when I start it, if it doesnt idle a second before I kill it. Let it idle that second and no issue at all. Has to be a buildup after the spark is cut.
