09' 600IQ starter problem?

Just contracted a starter problem on the wife's IQ? When I turn the key it makes an aweful, loud noise but nothing mechanical moves? The battery has a full charge, bought the sled new and has had no other issue's? Any advise and help is appreciated!

It sounds like its not fully engaging and grinding. I would remove it and turn over to confirm

Make sure the pinion gear that engages the gear on the back of the primary isn't stripped. Real common for the pinion to strip out.

Looks like this when they strip.

thanks for the photo, after further inspection it appears that the inside of that shaft is the part that is stripped. is that the same part, and is that what its called?
