you know...i have been caught up in all this negative BS thrown around this darn forum...and i must say...the first ride on my new 154" XP was nothing short of awesome. we found over 3 feet of snow everywhere that day (untouched) and rode from 8,500 to 11,800 feet. there were over 10 XP's we ran in to saturday, and no clutch problems...at all! no one had a story.

the ONLY issue was there were several XP owners (with nearly 1000 miles total) who had right hand grip heater issues. that's it! come to find out, a couple did not yet discover how it actually worked, with the progressive heat feature. if that is the only issue, not a bad overall introductory sled BRP!

i won't even go into actual ride specifics. let's just say...believe the hype on the ride, don't get caught up in this crazy scrutiny. you need this sled. there is nothing quite like it on the snow right now...nothing.

i would be more scrutinous of your dealer...did they actually clean the clutch of protective coating prior to mounting the belt??? makes you wonder...

GET ONE!

rode with one on sundays seems to get up on top of the snow real fast ,this was in about 3 ft of powder

yep...

better than that. stuck only once in 3 feet +...i cannot believe how capable this sled is relative to many other sleds. even the previous gen REV riders are in awe of the improvements as a rider. this thing is just fantastic...so fantastic, a few burps or issues are worth it.

BTW...at 10k feet, on tank of gas # 1, it did small backfires each time we shut them off. all the sleds i rode with seemed to do it.

My sled was doing the backfire thing until about 25 miles, and then stopped doing it. Strange, eh? No one's clutch was HOT?

what a freekin sled. Frst ride sunday and this is the best sled I have owned.. Rode in 3 feet of powder and the only complaint is intake clogged and iced up which has always been issues with my Cats. Nothing a happy button wont fix! HAve to mention I went over the bars twice from tagging land minds and no damage. Love this thing

This is pretty common with all the newer model Doo's. Just let them idle for 10- 20 seconds before hitting the kill switch, especially after a hard pull.

After a hard pull, If you shut them off with kill switch, there will be a lot of left over fuel from the rich situation, and the heat in the pipe will ignite it causing the backfire.

20 seconds of idle should be enough to clear that out.
