08 Summit X vs. 08 Everest vs. 06 Summit

I'm looking at 3 different sleds, never had a Skidoo before, need some info on the good and bad on these sleds. The 06 Summit is from a private party, has 975 miles on it. The 08 Summit X is a demo unit with 2,000 miles with a one year warranty. The Summit Everest is a demo unit and has 420 miles and a one year warranty. I'd like to know the common issues and any upgrades on these sleds. Thanks in advance.

All Good!

The 08's will need some clutch work and the 06 was a rippin sled, but it is the old style. Depending on the dollars you would be happy with any of them, as far as buy it and ride it the 06 is your best bet imo.

I'd buy the 06. Cheaper, less adjusting, and more riding. After you have fun on it the hole year, put some aftermarket goodies on it next summer.

I have had all 3, All good sleds, if all 151/154's, I would base my decision on how much money you have to spend,

If you are on a budget, the 06. If you don't have problems spending more, go with the 08X. Both are screamers when set up properly ......... like Low gearing and great clutching.

The 06 I rode with rocked right out of the box! My 08 x has been a great sled. They had some problems with the gauge but warranty took care of that, as far as clutching goes Winter Brew on here with fix it and make it awesome.

As said before, let price be your guide. All three are good sleds. If it were me I would get the xp. I love that platform. If I didnt want to spend that much money I would get the 06 Rev. They rock too. Personally I would either get the 06 or get the X package...but thats just me.

I really like my 08 X. I have about 2000 miles on mine. If there is not much difference in the price I would go with the new chassis.

Price and your budget should be the only factors in the descision. I have been on Ski-Doos since 1969 and have yet to find a bad one. For your first time on a Ski-Doo, bone stock is the best sled for you, other than clutching. They will do pretty much what you would ever dream right off the showroom floor. When you do add on, I recommend just bolt-ons and don't touch the motors, other than a pipe. Your choice, don't think you could go wrong with any of them. When I pick a sled, I sit on it and if it feels right, it is right. If you have any un-comfort, try a different one.
Thanks for considering a Ski-Doo, hope to welcome you to the family of FUN!!
