08 Summit DECK-OUT!!

OK.. I want to hear what you guys/ladies would do with a stock 2008 summit 800 153". I bought it as a hold-over and I want to know what's worth the money and works the best to get the most performance out of my sled. My last sled was a 2004 RMK 800 159''. I had a slp pipe, edge idlers wheels, v-force reeds, boss seat and an aftermarket hood. I'm not much of an Slp fan anymore.

Can and Pipe?

Who has the best tunnel kits?

Engnie modifications?

Give me your honest opinion!!

The biggest most cost effective upgrade in my mind would be Dynamo Joe's clutch kit. Other than that I am out of the loop. Good luck with the new ride!

First thing to do is ensure that any recalls are done by the dealer you bought it off of, especially the crank or you'll be getting towed out of everywhere like most of my Rev ridin buddies were most weekends. Then do the clutch fix as mentioned above so that too doesnt wreck every weekend. Once those are taken care of proceed to climb everything in sight.

I apologize, meant to say driveshaft but was thinking crank when i was typing. The driveshaft went on one buddies in the hills and another friend upon seeing this checked his out and it was cracked.

Ski-Doo did a recall on this once a few people got hurt, the bummer on thier part is they did a voluntary recall not mandatory, so you have to take initiative and take it in to get replaced on your own. It was a materials issue, a bad mixture of metal in some batches. Probably a low amount that had this issue but wouldnt hurt to make sure.

I would do the basics first...get all updates completed (alignment of clutches with motor, driveshaft replace, drop bracket on right side, handwarmers, make sure it has a 377 belt instead of the 166).

I added skid plate, Quick clickers, HPS can, upgrade to Big Johns belt adjuster, vent kit, gas can, bar riser bag.

kits

if you have a cool dealer id opt for a drop in twin ring piston kit. if it blows you still have warranty on the jug probably would have less chance for failure though. can for weight. id say gas can but i had mine full and never used it all last year? pretty good milage like 15, i was used to somewhere around four on my modsled.

as mentioned before talk to Slim ... IF hell give out his top secret knowledge :P .. and also definitely give Big John some business, he knows his stuff and is extremely helpful.
