Works well on my sons sled

I run a QRS from Craigger Built. Like it too.

Other son ran a Vortec rack with the Mountain Addiction jugs and a ratchet strap that got used for other stuff all the time.

Another thing to consider is how many times REALLY have you had to add gas to get back to the trailer. Even boosted I can count on 1 hand the number of times that I needed to actually add extra. I/we have packed gas a lot of miles that it was never used. Just something to think about. Good luck. EW

I like the VMI racks and have 2 of them, gives some strength and don't worry about buckling the rear end but always put the gas above the footboard brace mounting.

just like ericw, i have qrs cans, two of em. mounted to a sheet of t06 aluminum, bolted into the rail with 1/4 in captive bolts and 1/4 spacers between aluminum plate and tunnel. works great, and strong.

Had Vortech, sold it and bought Mountain Addiction. The top of the tunnel is not the weak part, it's the sides and in particular towards the rear where the black bar bolts into the side of the tunnel. Tends to waffle there with or without racks on the top. If you have a 163 I bet the Vortech rack for the 144 and the MA rack would both fit...........thought about it at one time. Guess my Dragon seems to suck gas so I have used my extra fuel tanks numerous times in just over 800 miles on the sled. MA works well, good luck

Hey i was looking at the Mountain Addiction Bungeeless Gas Rack and was wondering if it could somehow fit into the grooves on the tunnel of a 2008 700 RMK.

If not i was wondering what kind of gas rack everyone prefers for a good price?

Thanks in advance.

Get one directly from Mountain Addiction. You can get either 2 1.3 gallon cans or 1 3.3 gallon can for $109. It easily installs into the factory channels on your tunnel. Extremely well built and much better mount than aluminum angle and cans with straps holding them. I have both kinds between my two sleds and prefer the Mountain Addiction set up much more.

I do appreciate your opinion and feel that a response in this case is appropriate.

You are correct that the cost of material is not insurmountable for the average consumer. A few things that you have failed to consider though in your pricing analysis are some basic costs that go along with the manufacturing and sales of products:

1. The cost of the tools required to create the racks.

2. The cost of website creation and advertising.

3. The cost of the shop space to create the product.

4. The cost of packaging for sale.

5. Vehicle and fuel costs for pickup of raw material as well as delivery to the basic shipping depots.

6. The time it takes to make the rack itself.

7. etc, etc, etc.

It is basic economics my friend. A business that does not turn a profit will not be in business very long.
