08 nytro mtx for $7000?

I have the opportunity to buy an 08 nytro mtx with 500 miles for $7000. My question is what fixes need to be made to these stock sleds? are there any know issues I should be aware of? What is it's current value? A simple list would be nice so I know how much more I'll have to put into it.

what are you hoping to do with it. stock they are about the benchmark of reliability. if you are hoping for hottest sled around, it sure can be with some $$ if you just want a gas n go that is about as solid as it gets.

just don't hit anything bigger then a golf ball, they tend to be a bit soft in the front.

I agree with all of that, not so much with the soft front idea though. ANY sled will break something when hit hard enough. I try to avoid objects no matter what I ride.

The stock form Nytro MTX is a very fun machine. A bit docile, but quick handling (reminds me of my YZ dirtbike I had). You'll only notice the weight when you get stuck.

After 700+ miles last year, I decided the necessary "fixes" for me this year were: 1) a Timbersled skid- saves weight and greatly improves performance, 2) a different track- stock maverick track is pretty crappy in the conditions we have here in Colorado for the Nytro and 3) clutching- stock setup gave about 8100 rpms max continuous, this engine does well with 8600-9000.

Other than that, it's a great sled, a blast to ride, and upgradeable to the moon (just depends on how much money you want/have to spend!)

Maybe in a couple years I'll put a turbo on it, but for now I'm just talking about fixes that need to be made. I ride in southern Colorado, southern Utah, and Northern arizona. I would like to know more about the clutch mods, and where I can take off the most amount of weight.

If you don't buy it pls pm me the info. That's a great deal.

Ditto! If it's not wrecked, that's a smokin' price for a great machine!

Plan on the Timbersled rear skid to save about 40#'s, do a rear exhaust mod (maybe under tunnel?) for about $250 and save another 7-10#'s.....etc. New track while you're at it.

hey, guys I have a 08 nytro mtx w/600 miles on it that i would consider selling for 7500 its like new also it has reverse and left hand throttle.

Sorry guys, but I bought it. I got it even cheaper then I mentioned earlier!! and it only has 300 miles. It was the deal of the decade for me. I'm so excited! I haven't owned a sled for a few years now and never anything like this. I hope it snows this winter. So know that I own it I need to learn to clutch it. How should I change it?
