08 m8 turbo helix question

i got my hands on a helix its 42-36 better than stock helix for turbo??
all my clutching is stock except weights i have 80's and m1000 gears
any input greatly appreciated

dumb question...but i'm not a turbo guy. why the low initial angle on the helix? and he high finish angle? as you said its the opposite (ive got 44/36 on my '10 cat)

The turbo doesn't make the motor have any more HP on the low end, hence the more stock angle. Then under boost the HP(and torque) goes huge and so it can use the bigger angle.
 
No you definitely want something with a low initial and high finish. I am running a straight 44 in mine and the bottom end is a joke. I ordered a 36-46 from BDX today so hopefully the bottom end will be more like stock and once the boost comes on it can move up to the steeper angle and still shift out. Once it opens up now it makes some serious track speed but it does not work in the trees. Can't wait to try the new one. If it doesnt get here by the weekend I will be running my stock 36 for a couple days because it would definitely be better.
