08 M8 Clutching Problems please help!

I have an 08 M8 and there is a bog when you first take off i was told by a friend this is a clutch problem. occasionally in powder it will die it starts right back up but it will do it again and again. It tach's at 7500 Where should i be? Any recomendations for a clutch kit? I am also toying with the idea of putting a pipe on it will this help or worsen my problem? Any info you guys have will help thanks!

what elevation, weights in primary, and color springs do you have? dying over and over again is not clutching and could be related to your low end bog. stock i think 7600-7800 rpms is ideal, anything over that and you are past peak power/torque curve. with a pipe like slp more like 8k-8100rpms, but pipes can be tricky need to be careful what you do (y pipe and can) along w/ pipe wrong combos can give you problems. torsional clutch kits like RKT sound pretty good but can make tuning your clutching more complicated. i would resolve your other issues first and see i you still need a clutch kit...

I was having the same problem. I now have the RKT clutch kit installed with 73g weights and it runs at 7800 all day. No more bogging and it runs great.

Sorry about not responding guys my computer crashed. I have Stock Wieghts and it came with an orange spring in the primary and yellow in secondary i ride 9000 to 12000 ft I run without a winsheild and just learned to tie up my airbox b/c the winshield tabs hold it in place the helped a little but i still have a powder bog? could i be getting snow in the intake causing it to die?

Depends what elevation it was set up for there is a chart under the hood up front that tells you . The weights will say on the side what they are if you compress the primary a little you can swing the weights out should be able to read it or just pull one out. while your doing that may as well check that rollers are spinning free and that there are no flat spots in the wights. I would also check the plastic rollers in the secondary they shred/flatten easy.

what is your engagement rpm if its too low could make it bog might want to try gold spring in primary if that is the case.

X2^ When I got my 08 M8 it had 73g weights right from the factory. The sticker under the hood says that they will work for 6000' to 9000'. I'm probably going to go with some 71 or 70 seeing how I ride from 7500' to roughly 10000'

grizbacker-----was it the low end bog that you had, right after engagement? Mine is horrible and I have been looking for a fix....you think the RKT kit fixed it? I was having a hard time seeing it was clutching and saw where guys with Boondocker boxes richened the low end up and it went away. Thanks....
