'08 M1000 stuck in reverse

I blew a belt today, after putting on a new one (had to unbolt the secondary, to clean it for the remains of the old belt). Everything was fine until I got home and had to park. I pushed the reverse button and parked. Now it's stuck in reverse, and in the display there is an wrench symbol. Anyone knows about this problem. What can I do? I live in Greenland, far from any dealerships or.

Is the sled really in reverse or is the beeper just going off? I would check for ice build up around the servo motor and arm. If you have a lot of ice some times the arm will get stuck.

I had a belt blow on me last year,I changed the belt on the hill, put it in reverse to help get it so I could come down easier and when I went to put in to forward it would not go.We tryed everything even took off actuator.
I had to helicopter it out. When my dealer took it apart a little plastic clip had come off the shift fork and fell down so the fork could not engage it into forward.
$750.00 helicopter bill for a .15 part.
I have also had a friend have his get stuck in reverse after sitting all summer. He phoned the dealer and they said to raise the rear and spin the track for a couple of minutes to circulate the oil in the diamond drive and it worked right away.Hope this helps, good luck!

Thank you for the advises, and yes the sled is in reverse, but in the morning I'll try and lift it up, and let it run for a while. If I get it to go forward, how do I disable the reverse altogether. This is my first Artic Cat, up until now I've been a Yamaha-guy. And its also my first sled with reverse....I don't need it.

Make sure there is not a piece of the blown belt lodged up underneath the actuator. That happened to my brother's M8.

I couldn't find the translation, what is the "actuator"?, you should know, that after er changed the belt, I drove home (in forward) about 3-4 miles without any problems.

Actuator is under black cover left foot well.If there is a chunk of broken belt jammed in there it may stop it going into reverse. It engages the shift fork to put it into reverse or forward.

Thank you Smokindave, it's very kind of you. First thing in the morning, my mission is to get my sled in forward. I've just got my sled ship in last monday, so I really want it up and running.

i had the servo motor go out on me and u can manually put it in reverse by taking the cover of the servo motor off and spinning the motor by hand..found this out the hard way at the bottom of a hill

Thank you all, I solved the problem. I clean the area around the actuator (small debri from the belt) and then it fell in forward.

Excellent,I am happy for you that it was an easy fix,now go ride and post some pictures of riding in Greenland.:face-icon-small-hap
