08 M1000 Secrets

I just picked up a new 08 M1000 153" standard, I am looking for some advice as to doing sum minor mods. I ride between 6'-9' boondock and some hillclimbs. Not looking to be fast guy across the flats just want to look at doing sum clutching maybe gearing to get the full potential from the sled. I am already looking at doing the PC track and a can. I do not want to go to pipe and Ypipe and control box. I want to gain the most power I can with out loosing reliability!!!! I am also looking at doing things to lighten up the sled as we all know lighter means more power.

track

A track swap is definatly one of the better things to do but dont go to a power claw. i rode a 07 m1000 with the stock track it wasnt bad especially in the fluff it was just a bit too soft for the hard pack. i tried the power claw on my nytro and hated it. if changing go to a 156 camo extreme 2.5 inch lug with a 2 wheel kit that has the off set axle and 8 or 9 inch wheels.

2 wheel kit, Y-pipe, pipe, can (if you change the pipe a fuel controller is necessary) but change the can for sure. Cutler secondary made the most difference for me in the clutching, weight loss is also good for the 08..BDX or other intake, my only problem with the BDX is getting snow over the vents and bogging so on heavy powder days I remove the top black plastic cover. Lots of threads on the M1 check them out, and have fun...
