08 Dragon Walker Evans Pressure

I never really had a problem with my shocks until recently I noticed I was really working the front suspension and bottoming out the rear on some trail stuff.

Took it into the stealership and they charged me $80.00(gulp) to bring them up to specs. He said he put 225 psi in each shock.

Does the rear track shock take 225? It is the only shock that I could compress out of the sled by hand and when I got it back it felt exactly the same if not less pressure. Put everything back in and the front end felt slightly better if anything at all and the back end felt real limp.

Does anyone remember how that back shock should feel?

I just bought a new 10 D8 and I thought I had a problem with my rear shock. Had them check them all. He told me 225 for front, 210 for rear center and 215 for rear. After he checked my rear, I thought the same, that it was worse than originally, even though he said the rear was down to 150.

225psi is good for the fronts, 210-215 for the front track shock is good.

The rear track shock is not an air suspension shock like the other three. The other three use the nitrogen pressure in place of a spring, the rear track shock does not. It has a seperate torsion spring that provides the lift. The rear track shock will compress by hand even when it is charged properly. Run it at 215psi as well. If your rear end is saggy, search for threads on it here, the fix is a heavier torsion spring. I went with the .375 springs with the 47 degree preload and couldn't be happier.

Part numbers
7042079-067 Spring, Torsion, LH, STD [.375/47 °]
7042080-067 Spring, Torsion, RH, STD [.375/47 °]

If you send your WE Air shocks into Walker Evans Racing Service department...They will re-charge them for FREE!!

Yes... Free...

I talked to John there.

The only cost is the price to ship them back to you... and not some high price on shipping either as some people seem to do these days.

Give em a call 888-923-7223

The rear track shock can benefit from 210lbs of Nitrogen compared to 200 lbs. (behind the IFP)

That is awesome that Walker Evans will do that but I would really like to be able to play with the pressure a little and wouldn't mind being able to help other local people out.

Maybe I will give them a call and find out if they can sell me a fill station.

have your shocks butt arse cold when you fill them. how much do you weigh? The 08 rear stock set up is for those under 200lbs for the most part. If you weigh much over that ahve the rear WE revalved for your weight. Change the torsion spring... hammer the bumps hard and no sag!

Hey MH do they check them out as far as seals and such when the re-charge them? Might have one leaking! Thanks!

This "freebie" is only re-charge only.... If you have other problems... you will need to pay for the fix...

They have all the stuff in stock to do it quickly....

But for custom revalves...you are better served by sending them to Carl's or other shock specialists.

Maybe I will give them a call and find out if they can sell me a fill station.

I'm about 200 with all my gear and a board strapped on. The sled used to sit a lot higher in the beginning of the season. I can get it to bottom out a lot easier than before. Those torsion springs must sack out after some use. Do you find that putting the heavier torsions in, makes the rear seem over sprung because the valving is still the same?

there is always a reason why something is free.

Well, if I was closer I would have hand delivered them just to see what kind of tech would be working on the shocks.:face-icon-small-win
