08 Dragon 800 fix kit?

You'll have to pardon my failure to use the search bar. I was hoping to get I unique set of answers, but maybe I wont.

My roommate bought a 08 dragon 800 with 2900 miles and no known fix kit install. At first I thought the logic of "well nothings happened yet" was sound but I had to tell him what I was hearing and it understandably freaked him out. I was looking to sort through the different options he has as well as any simple ways to look and see if he has any "piston slap" which I have multiple friends tell me to warn him about. I don't want to see him attached to the back of my sled with a blown motor, or worse need a new small block.

I ride an 800 pro so pardon me for not being fully up on the dragon side of things. I know that the slap was a problem for alot of 11 pro owners and some 12 owners and wanted to know what would be a reliable test and fix.

Thanks in advance guys.

The Kuna Kave man (AKA Snow Duck) above is right give Shaun a call @ Mountain Tech there kit is a great kit and very easy to install. Just make sure you fallow the instruction and check for cracks.

MTNTK kit is the best insurance against engine blow-up. As well, it promotes less vibration, and adds ~5 hp. Easy to install. No, SUPER easy to install: 4 hrs of disassembling, few days waiting on cylinder honing (mandatory), and another 4-6 hrs to install. That`s it! If you have trouble - just call MTNTK, and they will help ya!
As well, while waiting on honing, you can do other things to sled - removing of cylinder gives you better access to engine compartment.
So, just go for it - you put 600-650 dollars in, and get bulletproof engine.
Only one downside thing - you will need to break-in engine again, so first 100 - 150 miles your friend will ride like old lady. LOL
