08 D8 water pump help!!

was told waterpump has weep hole under case. Does the case have to be opened to change this seal?? changed cover gasket but still pumping out under case (mid area.) was also told have to pull engine out to do it??

You don't have to split the cases, but you will have to pull the motor, there isn't enough room in there I don't think to work on the pump with it in the chassis. But the seals press in from the outside of the case, not from inside the case.
