08 D7 clutching

Just put a slp pipe and can on my 08 D7 and I can't get over 7800 rpm. I put in 60 gram lighting weights and a white polaris spring. I ride all over colorado mostly above 10000. I also took off my EV to service and put in yellow springs before the ride. I did not have the slp high flow intake on when I took the sled out (have it now) and i have powder valves on the air box. It ran well and was very responsive, it just didn't have the last little bit of power I needed. I feel it is in the set up I have please let me know what you think.

Same sled and exhaust, but a mild cut on the stock head. I'm running MTX 10-62g's with no weight in the tips, and an SLP Blue/yellow primary spring. Secondary is stock. I ride Colorado tree line and see ~8100 +/-. Ev's have never been touched, so not sure what spring comes in there stock.

Thanks man. That is just about the same set up that slp recomends. I went with this set up from my "know all" powersports guro. With the EV springs I took pink out of mine stock. With your mill on the head....How much did you take off and did you have to do any ecu mods or get a pvc. want to do a cut this summer.

What RPM were you pulling before the pipe change? If you wern't really pulling RPM before then IMHO ditch the factory helix and go to a 38 deg finish angle for you altitude. You'll be able to put some more weight back in the primary and the sled will perform better and more consistant. I use a 40 deg between 3-6000 feet and can swap the helix to the 38 for higher elevations. The start angle is kinda your preference. Some use 58deg I use 64deg for the launch. Just MHO but it's a good one.

no flash or pcv. XPC did their headwork on it a couple years ago. Not sure of the specs of the cut, but it's a 14:1 head. Donovan, from the now defunct XPC, is still offering the RMX kits through RMXtreme.com It's not the most powerful sled on the hill, but super responsive. I run one to two gallons of Sunoco 260gtx to a tank and have never seen the det. If I'm riding Red and White or Vpass, I just run straight 91. If I were to do it again, I'd probably get a power addiction head and leave the stocker alone in case I or the next owner wanted to throw some boost at it.

So what changed?... 1) New pipe and can probaly OK 2) EVs messed with... Inspect bellows for any cracks, holes etc. Springs perfectly reinstalled? It sound like an exhaust valve isn't opening @ full throttle. An EV stuck closed will easily cost 400 rpm. I would look real close at 'em.
