08 air filter on an 09

i have a new to me used 09 summit x 146 and the air filter seems mickey mouse. has anybody installed the 08 air filter on the 09. i know some guys have said on here they have used zip ties. my 09 piece is broke anyway so i have to buy 09 or 08 piece. i was also thinking of adding 2 2" flowrites to back of airbox. and feedback appreciated.

I just put the 08 screen on my 09 cause that stupid abortion of a filter keep getting pushed in last year, and I made my own flowrites for the back of the airbox cause I was bogging last year, riding this weekend so I will see if it made a difference or not.

08 filter for sure, cheap and easy. The 09 assembly lets in tonnes of snow. Also flow rites are a must. It wont even move in the powder without. No jetting changes either, they were too fat from factory so the flow rites work great.

i have a 08 , i installed the 09 air intake assembly on it, than drilled holes in the grove going around the assembly on the top and bottom, than i just ran bailing wire up and down trough the holes whichs makes a great backing for the filter to not fall in , while in deep snow.. seems to work great..

shoe gue

I am using the 09 filter on an 08. ran a bead of shoe gue around the perimiter and now the filter sits and stays where it should..

also drilled 2 - 1 3/4 inch holes in back of air box and glued some door screen on. Used the same door screen on the nose of sled, drilled and cut some holes in panels. All for $5 of shoe gue and $15 for the screening.

did this at the beginning of last year and all is well
