08 800 Adrenalin MAG question: Engine re-assembly

Ok, so I just did a lower end bearing and seal replacement on my 06 REV 800 Adrenalin (pistons too) and as this is the first time I have torn one of these engines down and I forgot to document something and don't know if it's important of not.

On re-assembling the magneto there are two pick up coils (trigger coils) that sit at the 8 o-clock and 10 o-clock positions respectively. Dang, I just didn't mark which one goes in which position and don't know if it's important or not :o. I think it may be because don't these sensors send the impulse that tells the ECM when to send spark to the individual plugs? and so they need to be the right pick up in the right spot ?

I just put them in to where the bends in the wires made each one want to fall but does anyone know if each of these coils are in the correct position? or if it matters at all as maybe the ECM just sends a dead spark to the non firing cylinder?

Anyway here is a pic so if anyone really knows it would be helpful...my manual doesn't say one way or the other.

Thanks for the help, it's been a learning experience

I believe one pick-up is for RER (reverse). As far as does it matter which one where? I would say it does only because the color code on the wires, just for wiring schematic reasons. The function is the same between the two, are the connectors the same on the ends?

Thanks Summit670!

Yes, got some info back from my local Doo dealer and apparently it does matter, the Blue/Yellow-White/yellow trigger coil (#1), and Green/yellow-Grey/Yellow (#2) coils cover forward and reverse and according to the service guy I have them in the correct positions...lucky me :D

Thanks for the help, now it's off to finish puttin it all back together!
