08 700 Dragon pistons

I'm kinda curious. How many miles on your sled that's causing you to change pistons? Did you cough a motor?

700 pistons

I'd recommend the OEM POLARIS pistons for the 2007 model as they're 2 ring pistons, the 2008's are single ring

BTW, There's a guy on hardcoresledder.com, DRAG770n, 8700 miles and counting on his 2007 DRAGON 700, NO rebuild yet!

3700 miles on mine with 125 p.s.i.+ compression, no piston scoring at all

Going to replace the pistons in my 700 and would like to know if I should run OEM or aftermarket pistons?

My 08 came stock with the two ring pistons. Compression is good on both cylinders just figured that since I am going to keep the sled another year new pistons and rings couldn't hurt. More for piece of mind than necessity.

Piston replacement

Since you have the 2 ring pistons and your compression is good???????? I would not replace the pistons, I.M.O.

does the 07 interchange with the 08? i wanted to get the single ring because it has more ring land area i just busted a piston and dont want to do it again but was just told in the turbo section that his dealer said they wont interchange

You can use dual ring in the 08 I did it but I don't know if the part number or if it come out of the 07 it could be the 09 kit? I called SLP and got my piston kits with the dual ring, all the o-rings and gaskets they said that this was the kit the use on all 700's hope this helps!

if you run a turbo like treeclimber go with the single ring, if not it dont really matter just get oem check spi they might have a piston out for the 700 now they do for the 800, its same design as the oem just you get coated pistons for cheaper and you can get the fully coated pistons for about $20 more than oem
