08 700 D rmk voltage reg issues?

I just bought an 08 700 RMK Dragon 155". Last winter, my buddies 08 800 Dragon lost the voltage reg and also the ecu. Luckily, his warranty picked up the tab, along with a little help from the owner of the dealership in Laramie. My question is the problem with the 8's or is it anything with the cleanfire engines? Also, what other 700 specific problems may I have?

By the way, can't wait to see how my 7 does against the 8's I ride with? I weigh on average 40lbs less than the guys on 8's! Gonna be fun!!!!

my 07 dragon 700 had some weird electrical issues, turned out to be the VR. Dealer told me there was an updated part #, so I ordered that, 5 minute install, problem solved.

Also, check your throttle body adapter (or, the rubber boots between your reeds and throttle body) as they get worn and cause intake problems. There's also an updated part # for this.

The voltage regulator is certainly a problem on the 700's as well, its the same lousy one. I've had 2 go down on my 09, the second being the updated one. Beginning to find out 700's aren't immune from the polaris curse, with only 1500 well cared for miles, my crank is gone!!!!

^ I've heard that about the 700 crank bearings, apparently they're too small, a cheap fix but PITA
