6.4 ford or a new body style 2010 dodge 6.7 or duramax 6.6. I own a 06 5.9 cummins 87k. I love how it runs hate the ride and the interior. I know their is a lot of people who have owned different brands and are not die hard ford or dodge or chevy fans. I don't want a brand war. Just honest likes and dislike of the trucks. I like the dodge warranty but i don't think i can drive any of these trucks stock due to fuel milage and emissions. I want a truck with under 40k and want to own for a few years with little problems.

i owned a 04 Chevy and my opinion is that the interior was more comfortable then my 06 ford but the Chevy was a half ton. i have a buddy that has a 08 6.4 ford and its much much more comfortable then my 06 i would say its close to my Chevy as far as comfort and i think it looks better. i haven't been in a 08-10 Chevy but i have been in a 2011 ford and it is by far the best interior for ford. i also test drove a 08 cummins mega cab when i was shopping and it was definitely my least favorite interior super basic in my opinion but i have ridden in a 2011 dodge and that interior was amazingly better then the 08. just my 2 pennies

also with the 6.4 ford you can add exhaust and a H&S tuner and have 550+hp and still be dependable and get better fuel mileage

I had an 04 dodge with the 5.9 QC, traded for an 08 duramax CC, now I have an 07 dodge MC. I loved my 04 dodge but I got bored and wanted something different. I ended up ordering a new 08 chevy duramax. It was a very nice truck but the seats killed my back. I could only drive the truck a couple of hours before my back would start hurting me. Now I am back in a dodge and have no regrets. One of the biggest things for me was the interior cab space since I have 2 kids in car seats. The seemed to be very lacking on interior space, it is just narrower than the dodge. There was no space between the car seats when installed. With the seats installed in the MC I can sit between the car seats comfortably and with the leg room there is no comparison. I can tell a huge difference in towing between the dodge and chevy too and I don't mean power. The dodge seems more stable when towing. The chevy does have a better ride when unloaded due to softer springs but at the same time it seems to have more sway when under a load. That is just my impression between the two.

I have a 6.7 dodge and I love it, has a few extras and never a problem, the interiors on the new ones are just as nice or better then the competition I believe. great fuel milage and very strong, I would stand clear of the 6.4 fords never heard to many great things about them the new 6.7 Ford is nice and as far as Chevy not to sure about I know the mpg is not there compared to the other two

Last month I traded my 04 QC 1500 Dodge for an '11 MC Cummins and the interior is extremely nice, just as nice as the '11 Ford that a buddy has. I was not a fan of the older interiors and really hated the doors and their lack of sealing. Dodge really stepped up in the interior dept and I am very happy with it so far.

theres nothing wrong with a 6.4 ford i wouldnt suggest getting a 6.0 ford but i wouldnt think twice about a 6.4

My dad's '08 F-150 Lariat's interior is really nice, but I can't stand the seats. The 2010 and newer Ford seats are REALLY nice in their half tons, I love them.

I don't mind the seats in the new Chevys either, but the rest of their interior isn't so nice.
(I'm a Chevy fan, raised like this :P )

6.4 Fords are not known for problems other than poor mileage is what I hear. The 6.0 Ford is the one that can be a problem.

I have 6.7 F350 4x4 crew. Very strong engine pulls trailer with no effort. I have had no problems. IMO the cab is not as quiet as could be and I have complained about that but others disagree. I'm thinking about selling it so if interest PM me. Has spray on bed liner and lear top, excellent condition, 23,000 miles.

Duramax drivers in our group have no complaints but we do enjoy brand wars -just as we do with the snowmobiles ( but Arctic Cats are still best...)

Nobody in our group has a Cummins but I have no doubts are good. All boils down to what your individual likes/dislikes and which truck gives you more of your likes. All are strong towing.

The only real 6.4 horror stories I have heard are the radiators splitting, really bad fuel mileage (unless deleted) and the PITA of having to take the cab off to work on the motor.

We have a 6.4 for a work truck and that thing is thirsty...drinks antifreeze (ford says it can't find the problem) and gets 11 mpg empty @ 80 mph. It does have pretty good power though.

I have an '11 Ram 3500 SRW, C/C, longbox, 4x4, Laramie with the 6.7 Cummins and couldn't be happier. This is my fourth Dodge/ Cummins (all Laramies) and it is the nicest by far. The new Dodge interior sets the bar IMHO. I have one buddy with a loaded '11 F350, 6.7 PS, and another bud with an '11 3500HD Denali, D-Max. All three trucks are very close in mpg and amenities. Dodge and Ford definitely have more interior room than GM. My buddy that owns the Denali and I both agree the GM needs an interior update. It's basically unchanged in 5+ years. New D-max and 6.7 PS are incredibly powerful, smooth engines. My Cummins is the 650 ft/lb version, not the 800 ft/lb, so it lacks a tiny bit compared to the other two. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the late model diesels. Just pick your favorite flavor.

i have an 08 6.4 and love it, great interior and comfy, i have deleted the dpf with a 5'' turbo back exhaust and a black maxx tuner form h&S, I get around 17 or 18mpg unloaded and about 14 towing, i have had one radiator start to seep and fixed under warranty, other than that no problems and great power especially with the tuner, tune was dyno'd at 588hp and runs great, its all in what you prefer, for me the interior sold me along with the power, i owned and lb7 before this one and also liked it, just pick one and run with it
