07 XRS sway bar disconnect????

I have an 07 800 XRS and a few people have told me to get rid of the swaybar. It requires cutting it and I'm not sure if I should. Anybody done this and how did the sled work on the trails we ride to get to the climbs.

swaybar

I have an 07 XRS Summit. I rode it for one year then removed the bar. The turning became much better. You have to tighten up the shocks so its not tippy. I added Fox Floats. With this combination it will rock. The airshocks are a must without the bar, Do it- you"ll love it.

If you ever want to try it come north. I'm just up in Newport. I ride priest lake a lot.

I agree, take it out. But no need to cut it.
After disconnecting hardware, wiggle it towards the can side of sled.
Tilt sled on its clutch side. Get some mother-in-law salve (wd40) wiggle, cajole, and curse and out she comes.
I had to take off a bolt (starter cable ground?) temporarily to get it past. Don't drop it.
x2 on the fox floats. Even on light trail duty the stockers are mushy even set stiff with the bar out.
Made quite a difference off trail in the real snow.

I believe the XRS has a bolt on connection between the swaybar and the lower A arm. I know my X did. If it does, just remove one and see how it handles for you. It'll be silver with a uniball at each end connected with 2 socket head cap screws. I think it requires a 6mm allen wrench and a 10mm combo wrench.

You can buy a quick disconnect for an XP that should fit it if it has that style. That way you can quickly switch it to swaybar for trails and no swaybar for the powder

Thanks guys, for all the input. I am going to Lookout wednesday and will try it without. Ill get back to you on decision. I forgot to mention I'm a novice rider but have riddin dirt bikes fore 20 yrs and feel I'm doing well for my experience. I may need a few more moderate hill climbs before leaving it out perminantly, but I seem to be keeping up with the more experienced crowd.
