I just got an 07 XRS, the ski's look like a pilot 6.9 ski but it only has one carbide in the middle. Was the ski on the XRS different that the ski on the other summit models?
In 2007 BRP went on a weight reducing mission getting rid of any and everything they deemed "unnecessary" and that even included the outer carbides on Pilots as well as one of the limiter straps and some tools!
I hated my Pilots when new so this is what I did: Drilled the outers to allow runners and placed the stock runners in those slots. Added a set of Shaper bars to the centers. Now they work like a champ and don't push in corners. Very happy with that setup for my Gade/jump sled for both on and off-trail use. I prefer Mods on my Summit for the ultimate deep snow performance.
