What is the good camoplast track for an 07 rev 159 x-rs, I cant ever remember which one doesn't trench out. thanks

The challenger lite is the one that trenches bad. It sure hooks up in hard snow though. Even after I cut the paddle ribs down it still trenched, not as bad as before but it still sucked. Plus it was so stiff it tore pretty easily. Get the regular challenger instead.

Good luck

Joe

(edit: your xrs stock track is the camo lite)

I did hear about cutting the ribs on the lugs, and that it is suppose to be better, but i have never heard anyone say anything great about doing it. thanks for the info I couldnt remember if mine was the lite or not, must be though cause I can dig like none other, haha. thanks

Here is what I did to mine. It helped in the softer stuff a little bit, but hurt the performance on the hard snow. It made the lugs fold over too easily...

As you can see, every single lug on the entire track had a tear or chunk ripped out of it.

Go with the challenger, you wont regret it!

track

so is it even worth the time to cut the ribs a bit, I cant really afford a new track right now but just wondering if it helps enough to tell the difference, and if it is going to destroy my track faster, since i am not sure when i will be able to get a new one. thanks for all the input.

It helps a bit. I think if I had to do it over, I would only remove about half of the rib near the top, so It still has a little bit of stability. One guy on the forums even v-notched the top of the paddle like the regular challengers have. He said it helped too.

07 xrs

I had a 07 XRS... Installed a 162 in Maverick...... Loved the track... Very good in deep powder... Also very fast. Worth every penny,,, if you can still find one..

Ran with a guy last spring up in Whittier who has the same sled, he had cut the ribs completely off, all of them:eek:. And said that since then he hadn't broken a single lug, sled was performing well. I myself swapped it out for a Challenger Extreme, your options in the 159 are limited, what a difference.
And yes Joe, I do ride......................................when I'm not PostWhorin:rolleyes::beer;

Cool! Let us know how that works out, still have the C-lite kickin around:beer;
i will forsure tell you how it worked out the guy who told me to do this did it to his track and he said it turns the track into a floater instead of a trencher kinda makes it a finger track

that's what I was thinking also, if it works out I may keep the ol track around............thanks

thanks born2sled that might be what i have to do. I think that would be better than cutting the support rib completly off. I will have to try it for this year, who nows maybe it will make it a new sled.

i used a utility knife to do what i did make sure you cut down a good inch maybe a little bit over cause the person who did this and suggested i do this to my track said you dont wanna cut down to little or it will not work properly

I just notched my track and it helped, and I taven't tore any luges. I left the thickness and just notched down about a half a inch in one spot on each padle.
