07 Summit Adrenaline 800R

Hey guys i just purchased a 07 summit adrenaline 800r with 141 mi. it has 151 in track. After reading some of the posts on here about 07's i am beginning to rethink my purchase. Have not had it to the hills yet to really try it out but so far i am liking it. What are some of the things i need to check on being a 07. I read on here about there being a clutch update, is that something that ski doo will replace or will that be out of my pocket expense? Also where can i find the v.i.n. # on my 07, it is not stamped on the r. side of the tunnel like my 03 ? Any advice will be appreciated i am still getting familar to the snowmobile world. Thank You.

Before you ride it, pull the exhaust valves and make sure they are not broken. If the crank didn't cause a failure, the rave valves will. Buy the new updated raves for sure.

EDIT: with 141 miles, your rave valves probably aren't broken, but they will break. get the updated ones!

Talked to the dealership where it was purchased new today, they say that they have did the update to the clutch already. When i asked about the rave valve they told me the only update to them was the rave valve spring??? Also now i am even more worried about the v.i.n.# it is not there. I am thinking that it has had the tunnel replaced. I spoke with the guy i purchased it from, who i believe to be honest, and says that it has not been replaced. he purchased it new from the dealership. The dealership has records of him purchasing it from them. So who do i believe? Is there any place other than the r. hand side of the tunnel that the v.i.n.# is stamped? The sled is very clean and if they did replace the tunnel they did a very good job everything looks factory even down to the rivets. Also back to the rave valves, what do i need to get to parts wise so that i don't have to worry about them breaking.

Try to find out EXACTLY what they replaced in the clutches. Hopefully a '09 Spring cap assembly, primary rollers and secondary bushing.
The track on the '07's was terrible. A Camo 2.3" Challenger replacement is a HUGE improvement in most conditions.
These are GREAT sleds when everything is "right".
If the factory rivets are still there, then the tunnel was not replaced, they can only be done at the facory and are a "self-piercing" robotically installed rivet. :beer;

The small ears break off from the valves but will not cause a failure, just a poor running condition because not all of the ex. valve is able to open.

If your rave valve breaks into 4 pieces, like mine did, and falls into your piston, yes it causes a failure.

i have the same sled with powder max track, this is the one you want, i have slp set up and have changed the clutching, it rips, and i would have a hard time trading for anything else, also i have 1100 miles on it and am on the 3rd motor, crank went on the first two 3rd motor is strong and have had no problems.

RAVE valves huh? Interesting, thanks for bringing this to my attention. Does anybody have a write up on how to find these valves and how to replace them? Are there any manuals, like a hayn'es manuel for ski-doo REV summits?
