07 Rev pro's, ZX guy has some question, please advise

Well I am thinking about moving from my 03 summit 151 frankensled, and need to figure out what to do.

Just bought a 07 800R adreniline 144" from a salvage auction. Sled had 2300 miles. And looked as if someone left the parking brake on and had the classic starter rope and oil res burn. I am "hopeing" that is all is was. Once I replace the brake line and res I hope it fires up.

However, I noticed the clutch has sprocket ring for the starter but no starter. Is this normal? I hope so, because I doubt they got it started after it caught fire with the pull start, thus not risking a non oil condition.

I have read about the clutching updates and to add a thermostat.

He comes the big ???'s
1. Should I move/swap my 800ho RKT cheater head to the new sled assuming I get 800r drop in's. That would be cool since I do not have to do a special mod for the thermostat.

2. Should I move over my Team TSS-04 secondary, or just go with a dynamoe joe kit.

3. Any after market pipes I should consider? I have Dual Ceramic CPI's stingers on the ZX and I love em.

4. How far should I drill the EGT hole for my Digitron. obviously if I keep it stock I will have a solo EGT.

5. Do you need a after market axle to just run two center wheels in the rear? Do people do this?

6. I am tempted to extend to a 151/153 but tracksusa doesn't have rail extentions, any other add on options out there?

7. Are vforce or boysen reeds a solid upgrade for the 800r.

Any other of your favorites would be appreciated.

ride at 9-12k feet.
200 lbs @ 6' 2"

Thanks,

it is normal to have the ring gear and no starter..its a vibration dampner.

1. i dont think you can use an HO head on an R motor

2. clutching is a preferance. but the DJ kits work very well. that being said if you have your Team clutch dialed in wel and it works for you why not swap it over.

3. not sure what kind of riding you do. but at elevation we are finding the dynoport singles with can are working very well for us.

4. first of all if you plan on running egt you need 2. even if its a y pipe there needs to be one in each pipe before it joins together. approx 4-6 inches from piston skirt ( there is an actual # but i cannot remember someone will know)
and you want the egt tip about in the center of the pipe.

5. yes you do need an aftermarket axle to ru 2 center wheels. awesome mod. tons of people do it. i do aswell. for mountain riding only.
mountain machines makes a great one or if you have resources its not hard to do the math and machine your stock one down. or make a new one.

6. going from 151 to 153 you do not need rail extentions. you can most likely take up that extra length with your tensioner or.....to be safe run an 8" wheel rather than 6". by doing that you will not actually gain any track on the ground. but you will not loose anything and be able to run an 8" wheel whcih is nice. or you can move the entire skid back 1" on the mounting to the tunnel.

7. use both boysen and vforce. always a good upgrade for any motor.

Pull carbs and check your oiler lines from oiler to block. Just did a top end in a 07 because one of the lines melted and wasn't spotted after a fire.

The head will work if it has an "R" stamped on it.

And definetly use the team clutch. Winter Brew has a kit I believe to use with the team

You guys are awesome thanks!

Just to clairfy this sled is a 144" and I am wondering if I should goto a 151 or 153", for that I have not seen extensions, maybe its a typo.

I will look for the R on the head, and verify I did not smelt the oil lines.

I have heard some good things about the pilots skis, but am pretty attached to my power pros and will bring them over.

Just curious what the center to center is on front rev shocks, I have some fox zero pros that were just rebuilt on the zx, anyone ever make the swap?
