07 problems??

I know this has problly come up on here alot, but i have a few questions. What is the real problem with these motors and whats the cheapest way to fix it. My dad had a 07 and blew our 2nd trip out with it. I want a nice and RELIABLE sled. Seems like all you can find is 07's because of the motor issues.
Wat was the best mod for these sleds??

As long as the motor is the upgraded "R" motor (which there should be a "R" stamped by the torque stop on the clutch side, you should be good to go motor wise. Another thing to look into are the primary clutches for the updates...once these are done, seems to be a great sled. I got an 07 xrs last year and seems to be a really strong runner...there are other improvements that can be made by doing 07 searches, but just read alot and learn as much as you can...alot of good people with a ton of knowledge willing to help...that is the great thing about snowmobilers!!

The Clutching goes bad and the cranks go bad... Not enough clearance for the crank.. Call "BIG JOHN" SLEDHEAD RACING.. He will get ya fix up 612-718-3861.. taking my 800R their soon
