07 NUN REPLACEMENT

Ok fella's,

I know that there is alot of information on how to so this simple task. aka 12 pack of coolies. If there is anyone that knows of anyone that has some step by step info on this, and along with any picture please email me at rockvalleyroosters@gmail.com.

Also I have noticed after I took the can off, where the orange rubber thing is, is creased. Most likely this is the cause of my tunnel looking tweaked?

So my next questions is what is the best way to straighten this out without pulling the motor and stuff? And what is the best way to reinforce it. I know us mountain riders are trying to shave the most lbs off on our sleds. So I need the lightest and strongest metal to reinforce it?

Any incite will be appreciated!!!:light:

Ill look when I get home for you I use to have a sheet from the factory showing you how to do it. Call vanamburg they sell reinforcement plates that go on both sides of the bulkhead, this will fix your promblem. They add alot of strenght, alot more then that stupid little piece of metal doo sells you.

There is actually an aluminum stiffener made by Ski Doo for that section behind the can. It is called a tunnel stiffener and is only found on the 440 race chassis. Here's the part # 518324096. The cost is around $10. Once you pull the nun off and bolt in the stiffener it straightens out that piece real easy. Remember to drill out the little thin piece of steel that is riveted in there as the current stiffener before installing the thick aluminum stiffener.

Good luck.

The VA tunnel stiffiner are a 100 times better. Dont waste your time on the doo junk one, bent that one too.

Thanks guys for the info, I have found a 07 440x racer nun in MN and they also have the reinforced brackets already on.

Also I have heard that Skidoo has a bulliten out about replacing the avex ribits with high grade bolts. I have looked and havn't found anything. So if anyone has this info send it my way please.

Again thanks for your inputs.

Danny

Personally I have not bent either the stock or the replacement. But I have replaced dozens on rentals and the Doo 440 tunnel stiffener is 100 times stronger than stock (of course this is just a guess:face-icon-small-dis) and is around $10. I personally wouldn't call it junk. I don't know what the VA one costs or how much better it actually is, but the doo one is not junk, it IS significantly stronger and a great replacement for the stock one. It would take one hell of a hit to bend it, but I guess that is just how some people ride.:boom:

Whatever though.

i had to replace my nun earlier this year and i put it all back together with bolts, same with all my other riding partners that have had to do theirs. seems like the best way to go in my opinion.
