07 M8 wont move

I have an 07 M8 with a 153 that has been sitting outside the last few days. It has been very cold here with high temperatures around 10 degrees and lows around 15 below. I started it yesterday and let it warm up to move it inside and while it was warming up i made sure that the track was free from the rails and everything but i was unable to turn it by hand. I tried engaging the machine and it just spun the primary on the belt. The drivers look like there is a bit of ice on them but nothing too much.

I was wondering whether or not the diamond drive could have some moisture in it that would have frozen up during this cold spell or what the deal is? or could it just be some ice on the drivers???

Any help would be appreciated!!!!

Just went out and checked the brake rotor and pads... i was unable to move any of that but i dont know if that would just be a symptom of the problem.

The secondary moves about 5-10 degrees when turned by hand which results in the drivers just barely rotating; by barely i mean that it is just starting to take the slop out of everything.

Your Diamond Drive has moisture in it and it is froze, to get it to move, get a hair dryer or heat gun , lay it down in there by the diamond drive, after you get it to move, you need to get it serviced. I am sure this is your problem , I see it all the time.

I put a heat lamp on the brake caliper for about 45 minutes and then everything was free. Rode around the field a bit and used the brake to get it good and warm and melt all the moisture out of there. Everything seems to be fine now.

Just curious though David, how does the moisture get in the DD???

those orings suck, if they would have actually used a seal the moisture problem would have been all but eliminated.

my sled did the same thing a couple years ago. i heated up the dd and then it was able to move. i changed out the fluid right away and i could see the water floating on top of the oil. it was quite a bit actually.

I just dont really think that there is frozen moisture in the dd because i didn't heat that up at all. The only thing that i heated up was the brake caliper and that seemed to fix the problem.

Though it is good to know that those Diamond drives do freeze up.

Thanks for all the info guys i am gonna go check it again today and make sure it is all still free
