07 m8 slp pipe....still kind of a dog,Now what?

What are guys liking for helix in the 07 m8 secondary? I have dalton ajst in the primary and a shift assist in the scondary! i ride between 3000-6000 feet. speedwerx y-pipe and can. what would you gurus recomend? Just instaled a new 162 power claw!

Are you running a pipe as well, a little more info helps

No. I have not done the pipe yet! I ride between 3000-6000 feet Weigh 240lb with gear. Like to boondock and play on the hills..

Hate to say it buy i just bought an 07 M8, havent been able to ride it yet but it has a cutler secondary, boss seat, skis, slp can, and many other extras but not much for performance, its got 70s in for weights and a titanium spring? I mostly ride in 1500 ft elevation... anybody got any ideas for that clutching setup?? after reading all these threads i am NERVOUS

Has anyone compared -07 and -08 DD cases? Are they different shape or something? May the -07 case design or finish resist more oil movement than newer ones? Noticed the part number changes between -07 and -08.

Performance varriables from 07-08 could be so slight or insignificant to notice, but make a huge differnece in actual performance. Something as simple as a bearing change, bolt or screw torque setting holding back the power. Or could be something like a missaligned DD case in the chassis or tighter fitting DD gears. Who knows.

Dont forget, the Pclaw track is a single ply. Close to 8lbs lighter than 3-plys of 07-08 and cat claims it frees up close to 10hp just from rotational mass.

I have an 07 M8 and just picked up an 08 M8 this weekend. Did anyone notice the difference in the y-pipe? The 07 if very restricted. Could that be why the power is down on the 07?

Just wanted to bring an old thread back to life, still trying to figure why my 07 is a POS and getting spanked by stock 08M8's ? PowerClam, SLP Slow pipe set, RKT torsional, Cutler adjustables ect......

My sleds a turd :frusty:

DO you run a fuel controler or have an intake on it? My 07 162 with the slp pipe rips!! And im only at 7900rpm cant wait to ge the full 8100-8200rpm and see what it go like!

Yep I have a fuel controler and a wideband wanted to get everything out of it I could check my sig it. My Buddies 08M8 cleans house on it big time it was bone stock except MBRP can, even switched sleds same result :face-icon-small-dis

Ive been told by many members to only use cat light tip weights! I hope thats going to give me that rpm i need!

im really regretting buying an m8,have read way to many issues with em and tinkering tactics on here just to get em to run, shoulda bought an xp 800r im thinking so m8 for sale

lol no im kidding,i understand with each personal prefferance and wants of each individual there is tinkering involved,

Yah maybe I should quit b!tchen and just be happy I have a sled to ride. I fix things all day long diesel's gasser's electrical stuff ect.... Very well mechanicaly inclined but this things got me confused.

yep for sure, same boat,im to the point where im sick of tinkering n such, just want a good clutch set up and reliable sled, but i also want some power,i havent ridden this m8 much so i dont know how its gonna act,ill just have to wait till im in elevation, here at sea level it seems to do well, but well see on the hill,
