Hey Guys..

Just bought an 07 M8 162..Went from ski-doo to CAT!!!! It has just over 5000km on it!!! Speedwerx Y-pipe and can and some clutch work with ajustable weights! It has been maintained by the local AC dealer and its in very good shape!! Some plans are..

1. 162 power claw track
2. Snow Eleminators
3. BDX Bumper kit
4. Light weight seat
5. BDX 2 wheel kit
6. Sly dog powder ski's or others on recomendation!!

I was thinking about dropping some new pistons but what is the life Exp out of the M8 motor? Is this easy to do at home or take to a shop? Im not new to a wrench or sleds!! Just new to Cats!! What else do you GURU'S !!! Think would help me out?? Maybe a pipe??? Or lower gears??? Any help would be great!!

Tom

Do 1,2, and 3 for sure. do a compression check and if all is well don't worry. I've heard of tm8 going 2000miles on 10+lbs of boost and still in great condition.

A top end is easy and I would do it. It's only a couple hundred bucks and will save you from headaches. It will also get you in to the sled so you can learn a little about it and check for wear on stuff. I'm a big maintenance freak and tear my sled down at the end of every season to change old parts and look things over. Its amazing what you will find and can fix before it leaves you in the woods. I have an 07 and it has been awesome, I have never had a problem with it. I would look in to the Fastlane No Sno running boards and look at VE for a rear bumper. The VE bumper is more expensive but well worth it. The 2 wheel kit works well and I would leave the gears alone. I would probably also run the stock pipe unless you are going to port it. The SLP and speedwerx pipe work well but I think there are better places to put the money.

Thanks for the replys!! Going to look at the fastlane boards!!! Any other sugestions??
