Here's my dilemma fellas. My sled (07 m1000 W/ 2000 miles) will sometimes fail to shift entirely from reverse to forward. If this happens it will make an awful grinding noise and I have to throw it back in reverse to make it stop. Super intermittent though. However, now I now have a constant grinding sound (I can feel the vibration through the handlebars). I noticed some aluminum filings lying beneath the secondary clutch. Ordinarily I will sit in the garage, diagnose a problem with the help of this fine forum with everything in front of me. But my M-Cat sits in a trailer in Denver and I'm in St. Paul. I tried to pull the DD off and bring it home with me last time out but didn't have a long enough extension to get it off and ran out of time.
It has always seemed to leek a fair amount of oil out of the secondary clutch (just flushed and changed at the beginning of the season). Anyways, I guess I was looking for a little guiding light on what may be the problem so I can be prepared to win a swift and merciless battle with this thing. Headed out there in a week by the way.
Much thanks, rollcontrol
