07' 800R seized!

Hey guys we were riding last weekend when i started to go down into this bowl my sled seized up on me! I checked my clutches verything seemed fine there,pullled the plugh out they seemed ok too.We put some oil in the cylinders and left it there for a couple of days when we went back pulled the rope and she broke loose and I ended up riding it out.Any ideas of what could of happend and what to start looking at?

Is it the original motor? If so those engines were bad for inner crank bearings. They don't even offer that crank through skidoo as it is updated with revised bearings. That is a good spot to start when you say it restarted.

lots of bad 07 800 r cranks, there is another thread in this section loaded with like 4 pages of blown 800's. I have to knock on wood every time i ride mine.

also had some issues with rave valve breaking and causeing lean condition

Yeah it is an original engine with 5800kms!I guess ill try compression test first and see what comes out to be and go from there!

Mine did the same thing. the rave valve failed causing it to go lean. when you pull the rave out it is obvious what happens. We are finding lots of these rave failing. Including some fall apart and go through the engine.

Just like every manufacter ,ski-doo had some tolerance isssues on some of the cases. Most of the problems are caused by other factors not controlled by Brp. Take it apart and see what went wrong. 5800 km is alot of kms for any 800. Time for a rebuild anyway, nothing lasts forever.
