07 800r 1100 miles still perfect!

Thought I would put out a positive point on the 800r. I have 1100 miles on it and on the same belt!! A mix of climbing, powder and trail. Been on Amsoil Interceptor since about 200 miles. Only changed the plugs because I do at the start of each season. Just wish I could figure out how to keep it from vibrating the airbox so much!

My brothers XRS needed it's first belt change at about 1800km, and he drives it hard and maintains it poor. Never had any updates done either, and runs very comparable to the other two belt eating XRS's me and a buddy have that were in the shop many times.
Who knows

Shove a big chunk of foam back there in between the back of the airbox and the fuel tank. Vibration problem solved.

I have the same problem with the air box rattling, I'll give the foam thing a try. I have also been lucky and happy with my 07. 850 miles, no blown belts (i did do some clutching myself) and runs great. Hopefully I didn't just jinx myself

All of you better knock on wood quick. My 800 R went down last monday at 1600 miles. Crank Bearing went out. The only good thing about it is WARRANTY!!!!! they put in a 2008 motor. If you want to have a lot of fun with your 800R's. Put the SLP Kit in it. Heads, Y Pipe and air intake. 170 HP and the flat out rips. Just a thought
