07 700 IQ hard to pull over

I've never had a problem pulling over my 07 D7. When it's cold it starts on the second pull about 1/2-3/4 of the way out. Warm it fires up on the first pull 1/2 way. I do not believe there is a decompression hole in the 07 700 for easier starting.

Correct on no de-compression on the 2007 model.

The 2008 700's have the de-compression.

I think my 2007 700 pulls over rather easily, compared to my last sled, 2002 800

Here's a thought:Perhaps there's another issue.??

Try removing the belt, see if it pulls over any easier, perhaps deflection is too tight, or side/sheave clearance is too tight, or the primary is "hanging" up, bad bushing, etc, causing the sheave to "stick"

Or remove the plugs and see if it pulls over E-Z.

Change out your pull rope. I used some gray woven super strong zero stretch rope (I think it is used on sailboats) from West Marine. My wife couldn't start her 07 D7 prior to changing the rope out. It's still not easy for her but at least she can do it...one handed when it's warm.

Good catch on the belt/clutch creating resistance Kraven! That is one of those "don't overlook the obvious".

If it's your wifes sled, install electric start. She'll love you for it, mine does!!! It may sound expensive at first, but when she gets stuck somewhere and your not around to help, that electric start will be worth GOLD.

Definitely do this Mike. Several of the girls have and noticed a huge difference. :face-icon-small-coo
