my friend has a 600 cfi that i have been helping him to figure out . he installed a gabes clutch kit and had 7900 rpm . gabes was awesome and tries to help but it was not his parts . we put it back to stock and still 7900 . the belt is new , alignment and deflection is right on , mounts and torque stop good , exhaust valves clean and working if revved on a stand , new fuel filter , tried champ and ngk irridium plugs , throttle bodies opening all the way , dealer checked out for codes and such but none found , track alignment and tension good , 115 psi in both cylinders . we tried many spring and weight combos and it does not react to changes , still 7900 . we even lightened the 10-62 up to 60.4 , then 59.6 with a team silver 165-344 spring . still 7900 . that's what bothers me , it should have revved off the charts with that combo and stock helix and spring . even tried that with stiffer sec. spring and both of gabes helix tracks and still 7900 . why won't this thing spin up ? i thought i heard of a silencer having internal trouble but don't have a test one . i also wonder about the fuel filter being defective . he changed it at the beginning of the season . he also never paid attention to rpm before but i think this thing was faster than now . his plugs are a little light for my liking yet it uses more fuel than my dragon 700 . anyone have any ideas ? this sled is ridden in ny so the elevation is less than 3000 ft. . any help or ideas would be great .
