07 600 HO Electrical Issue

Went out for a ride today and everything was working fine....I looked down at one point later, and noticed that the digital gauge was not working...most electrical accessories do not seem to work now (hand, thumb warmers, gauge, headlight, taillight)

reverse, electric start, and the kill switch still work, and the sled still runs like a champ. I have the shop manual and looked in there, but I did not see anything about fuses...does anyone have any suggestions...all the wiring harnesses look to be connected

this is confusing....

Its very common for the ac/dc converter to fail on these models. Of the 4 sleds in our group that have the 600 HO, 2 or 3 have had this coverter fail. When it does, you lose the MFD and a host of other accesories.

Polaris part #4011440 subs to 2203794 which is an updated kit, they also "updated" the price to $197!!!!! They used to be $80 ish.

Looks like Babbits is still less than $80

and here it is only $71:confused:

Do you mean the Voltage regulator? according to the Polaris 07 600 schematics rectification is performed in the voltage regulator.

Providing you lost a Voltage regulator...and just the DC output stages...you would have the symptoms you have.

When you pull the brake lever do you get the LED display light to light?

With no DC from the Reguilator you will not charge the battery correctly..it will either be low or could go high which would over charge it and make it smell like rotten eggs. Measure the evoltage across the Battery at idle and then reved up slightly and see what she reads.

Also measure the ACvoltage if is over 14.8 volds with engine running=bad regulator.

Check the DC output on red/whte circuts or red.
The exhaust valve solinoid has a red/white...if DC output from the regulator you will have no exhaust valves either. Well I gues you would still have the exhaust valves..they just wouldnt work properly.

There is a chassis relay that can hose up most of the items you mentioned..except for the brake light. Grip heaters can load down the system pretty bad..turn them off..very fast check...when my wifes 600 blew the grip heaters I cant recall exactly..but I think I had gauges..nothing else.

Get a cheap voltage meter if you dont have one and troubleshoot before you start throwing parts at it.

Good Luck,mw

Thanks for all the help guys....

I quickly this morning tried turning off the handwarmers and nothing still worked....but it still fired right up and ran fine....

I will try the rest of the suggestions when I get home tonight and report back....

Thanks again.
