07-09 m1000 engine life

My speedo is stuck on trip meter, but I should be in the 2300-2500 mile range.
I put a stator in it at about 1800 or so miles... Out of warranty, but cat paid for parts:D

I am in the procces of doing my summer maintenence and haven't pulled the power valves yet... 500 miles ago everything looked great.
I have new piston kits/gaskets sitting in my garage, but don't plan on replacing them until after next season.
My guess is in stock form, 5000 miles easily.
I usually do a top end rebuild on my sleds in the 3500-4000 mile range.

2200 miles + and going strong. I am installing new pistons and rings this off-season.

had 3800 on one of them, got 1700 on two more of them.

REPLACE PISTONS OFTEN so you don't take a chance of being like dogtownbutcher, although 1100 miles is pretty rare to lose a skirt.

I guess 1095 miles would be my reccomended piston change schedule!

I shoot for 1000 miles/ pistons actually.

2300ish and running strong, pistons look new.
probably redo the topend after next season at 3600 or maybe not.....
if it holds up as long as my 04 kingkat...near 4000mi....
...still on original motor....still a great backup sled....
