07--->08 Crank Bearings Fixed?

All of the magazine reviews (conveniently now not naming Doo's last year front-man Chris Ruske) are *****-footing around this one...

Do you guys think Doo has the fix in for the PTO side crank bearing failure problem? Or are the 08 800r's grenading at 800-1200miles like the 07 800r's did?

Thx!

MD.

No they have not fixed it. Ruined a great ride today. 08 XP about 1300 miles.

I've had 2 new doos and 5 new cats in the last 7 years. Cat cranks bad=1, doo cranks bad=2.

I have 2300 hard *** miles on mine, should be going any day now. :rolleyes:

bad crank

Just replaced my fourth crank today! The way the oiling system on the doo's sucks. The only time your getting correct oil mixture is at idle and wot. So if your in and out of the throttle alot like i am your going to adventually seize a bearing or break a crank. The fix is to do an oil delete and pre-mix fuel or add oil to fuel tank on top of oiler. I'm definetly pre-mixing my fuel from now on.

So what are these motors doing before they grenade?? Loss of rpm?? Loss of rip?? I have NEVER boken a crank or rod bearing and not been able to tell it was going to do it. My XP is doing some strange things right now, just wondering what the symptons are
