06 Switchback Backfiring and dies!!!

So as the story begins I recently purchased a 2006 Switchback 144. All stock
4500miles

Picked it up and it started fine, brought it home... good to go. It was low on gas but i needed to move it out of the garage to work on the RMK.

Its dies. No Gas..... Ok Fair enough. I put a 12L of 91 octane in topped up the oil and started pulling. After 20 mins and no go i called it a night.

Next day after some reading( thanks to the forums here). I returned and primed the fuel pump using a battery charger on 10 amps. worked well. Bled air out at the schrader valve.

pull and pull and pull...Pull cord snaps!! FML

Now its a new sled to me so im cursing and hoping they left the two bottom bolts out........they did..wasnt the first time.

Recoil fixed.

Now 3 days later ....we reprimed the fuel pump. ( maybe for too long)

sled starts up but back fires... dies...
repeatedly...
needs slight throttle to start and patience... runs for 6 seconds then dies.
backfires when pulling over.

new plugs already in

ran perfect before it ran out of gas

ANY THOUGHTS would be appreciated.

|Missing my stock airbox, just ordered the Fire and Ice.( Moutainhorse seems to know)

Update.

Went and bought all new springs and an exhaust Donut(after arguing with the parts guy)

I was right donut was too small.

Sled runs better without the exhaust on. Old donut was blown to ****.

Just a guess, but it is evident the motor was pulled. Perhaps the TPS wasn't set or it may be bad? Not sure if it would cause your problem.

Check the throttle cable tension. If it is too loose, the sled will think the throttles are stuck open and the engine will die. Check at throttle lever pivot, that is where the emergency cut-off switch is. Any kind of slack there and its lights out. Then check your fuel filter, look for water and other debris sucked up from the bottom of the tank. 550iq.

Just waiting on parts, don't want to run it with the exhaust off. Should be here Wednesday.

Airbox hopefully this week too

Just want to do normal maintenance and ride this winter.

Ill tear into it deep next summer.
