06 Summit Crank Blew???? Please Help!!

My 06 rev 800 crank broke and threw metal into one of the pistons and scratched it all up. Wondering if i should get a used long block or get a rebuilt crank shaft and new piston send it out to get rebored and sealed and all that basically peice it back together. Which one is cheaper? Any advice on what to do and maybe get some good deals let me know.

Thanks!!!

new long block

I would good for a new long block. The case could be bad, I put a new long block in a 04 rev the only way to go.

I bought a short block for my 04 2 years ago ( lost a rod bearing--really tore up the motor ). It was the fastest and easiest way to go. At the time it was only $100 more for the short block than all the parts that I needed. I ended up keeping the old motor and selling the good parts off of it and it actually ended up costing less than if I would have bought all the individual parts.

my 02 :beer;

Call your local dealer. I called several places and I ended up buying mine through my local dealer ( Macs Cycle ). You can also try this place http://www.seadooclinic.com/ They are pretty good to deal with as well. But call around I found that the prices change and you can maybe save some $$.
