06 summit 800 bog, any help?

hey guys. i have an 06 summit 800 adrenaline. no motor work. it runs great around home(south dakota). but when i was in the mountains, 9-10k it has a about a 2 second bog. if you are idlin an pin it. no problem. but if your in midrange, say in the trees, and pin it. 2 second bog, sounds like its gonna die. but when it comes out of it, goes great. any advice? thanks.

pin weight?

What setup does your clutch have in it? If runs good @ sea level "South Dakota" but falls in the midrange @ altitude 9-10k almost sounds like you may have to much pin weight in clutch. Does the sled come out fall down and then hit 8,000rpm or does it come out hit midrange, lay down and slow climb to 7200 rpm? Just trying to give you some ideas. I ride the 9-10k. Just trying to see if you are losing ignition, fuel or just clutching?

Are you in deep over the hood pow? Do you have all the top and side vents sealed off with some type of pre filter material to keep snow out of your engine bay, clutches and ECM? If not youre probably getting water in your ecm and heavy snow ingestion. Possibly blockage of your outlet pipe on your can by deep snow can make em bog out a bit too. Check your DPM hoses and make sure they are all connected properly.

If if nots deep snow ingestion I would also look into clutching for your elevation as suggested earlier. Good luck

thanks for the ideas guys. when i'm ridin in the trees, and running say 4500-6000, everything is great. but when i throw it to the handlebar, sounds like it's gonna die. no response, just a few chugs for a second or two, just long enough to nose dive into the other side of the creek instead of over the top of it, then it takes off like a raped ape. once it comes out of it, it's straight to 8000 and stays there. it did this 3 times to me. each time in a spot that could have made things very interesting.
it was in about bumper deep snow. i have prefilter on that front whole behind the bumper, but not the 2 in the hood. i have checked all the dpm lines and had previouly put zip ties on all them.

what am i suppose to check on the e valves? aren't they electronic?

carb heaters are off.

i'm not sure exactly whats in the clutch. i ran on clicker 5.

if i would climb a hill or anything like that, it would hold 8000 and about 41-42 mph track speed all day. seems like its the transition from mid to top end. has anyone changed their e-clips in the carbs? i heard that might be it but i figured dpm should take care of all that. correct?

thanks for the help:)

Get the prefilters for the top of the hood for sure, they let in alot of snow that gets warm from the pipe and it slushes up fast around the ECM, sometimes builds a giant ice ball around your ECM and contrary to what some others might think, try it with your carb heaters ON for a few mins after you notice the probs. Might be icing up, what temp you riding at?

I have a 06 800 X that always had a bog ONLY when i was carving in deep powder on the left side. I talked to a buddy (Brad) who works GVP (Greater Vancouver Powersports) he knew the problem right away. He said to install TPI valves on the backside of the airbox. My dad and I both did this, and we have not bogged at all since. These valves have adjustable vents on them depending snow conditions or temperature. I hope that helps you out. :beer;:beer;
