top end 3,000miles before it gets expensive... repack the crank with grease since your already goin in there

I think he means the pto and mag side bearings,they are packed with isoflex grease and that is how they are lubed.
You have to split the case and then you can look at the inner seal on the bearing to crank and replace the ones in the center if need be.
