06 Rev track upgrade - worth it?

Found a pretty much brand new 150 inch camoplast extreme track with 2.5 inch paddles for 300$ that my dad's friend has

I currently run the stock 144 inch track

Would it really make that much of a difference to go through all the work required? (tunnel extension, skid, etc..)

I do love the 144, climbs pretty good and I can toss it around great, seeing as I'm 5'5 and 150 pounds soaking wet at maximum :behindsofa:

That will be a nice upgrade for you definitely.
I can help you with the longer cooler and extension if you want to go with stock stuff. 151" cooler in great used condition and the 151" tunnel extension to go with it. The extension is in fair/good condition but I will give it to with the cooler- $125 plus the shipping.

Is the 150 16 inches wide? If it's only 15 I would say no, your 144 has the same footprint as a 151 X 15. If it's 16 inches wide do it! I just went from a 144 to a 154. Haven't had a chance to ride it yet, but can't wait!!

Actually the deeper lugs more than make up for the loss of footprint (been there, done that) and allows for easier sidehilling. The new 16 wide camo extremes even have 15 wide paddles (but 16 wide belt) for that same reason now. I would not hesitate to get that track. Narrower is especially better if you're a smaller guy.

Have FUN!

The most important thing in this swap is to buy Avid drivers. I am guessing the track is 3.0 pitch and your stock drivers are 2.52 pitch. Do Not buy Wahl brand drivers, spend the extra money and buy the Avids.
I swapped a 151 to a 156 last summer but did a drop and roll and a bunch of other things to make it fit. If you don't want to go down that road there should be plenty of info from people who have done the same swap you are going to do.

Whos drop and roll? I,m looking for one?

Hymark860 made all the parts, then he and I did the install. I think he is willing to sell it as a kit though. It's a pretty sweet kit with some parts that are far nicer than what others are offering.
He cnc'd the drop brackets, the chaincase bucket has nice long tabs at either end for 2 rows of rivets. The new tunnel sides fit nicely and look factory.
He has done them for a number of sleds in this area and they all work flawlessly.
I don't have any super sweet pics of it but here's a few. They were taken last summer right after finishing up. You can see the cool drop brackets and how factory they look in the last pic of the whole sled.

So your drop and roll runs jackshaft inside tunnel. How much drop and roll did you end up with?Enough room for clutch at footwells?

Yes the jackshaft is in the tunnel. i trimmed and dropped the footwell bracket on the clutch side so the belt guard would be as close to the secondary as stock. The footwell on the clutch side is not any tighter than stock. I did lose some footwell room on the chain case side but it was worth it.
2.5" back
1.75" down
Plenty of room for a 2.5 CE on 8 tooth 3.0 pitch drivers to clear and shove snow. Also was able to install 156" track on 151 rails without extensions by using an MMP freedom axle and 8" XP wheels.
Oh yeah, those XP wheels wouldn't work on a stock MMP Freedom axle so the guy helping with the D and R machined some custom parts for the Freedom axle that allowed me to run the XP wheels- including parts with the dovetail.
