06 Polaris RMK 700 Bogging

First off, I'm new to this and apologize if I've missed a thread. I've been searching threads for the last couple of weeks but didn't find the answer.

I bought a 2006 RMK 700 about a month ago and love the sled, at least until it started acting up on our trip! Was running good around home, then took it to the trails and had problems when running behind other sleds going at constant speeds, around 30 mph. On the way back from the trip dropped it off a dealership. They changed TPS and 'cleaned it up a little' for a cost of $500. Took it out on the weekend and still basically the same:

- Really boggy when trying to go one constant speed (below 40 mph)
- after running the trails while bogging, would idle between 900 and 1100 rpm, which then can't go into reverse (pevious problem, not this weekend
- WHen going approx 30 MPH at about 4000 rpm slowly increase throttle and would not go above 6100 rpm
- Seemed to be fine after sitting awhile.
- Even when it was running good, would all of a sudden just stall when just sitting there.

The sled has after market can, and airbox replaced. He said all the updates were done. Anybody have any ideas or run into this before? Thanks in advance!

When the dealer changed the TPS did they check the TPS harness for breaks in the wire? The 2006's were notorious for broken TPS wires. I have replaced many of these. The problems you describe are most likley TPS related.

Thanks Super Dave. I have a call in to the dealer to follow up. If they did check the wiring, perhaps it is simply a faulty TPS installed. WHen I picked it up he said to run it at different RPM's so the TPS could adjust itself. Could it be that I haven't given it enough time yet (if they say they checked and the wiring was fine)?

WOW...too bad your dealer doesnt seem to know what he's doing..

that had GOT to be a TPS harness...about 99% sure...

typical TPS adjustment issue, or your TPS wiring possibly..

very easy to build your own tool, and test it yourself..i have done it MANY times and has always been flawless...
