with a 06 m7 162 what are some things i can do with out going broke to liven it up a bit seems kinda boggy right out the gate?

I'd look into a milled or aftermarket head. I have a 05 'M7 with an RKT head with the 14:1 domes and it rips.

Clutching is crucial though, especially on the M7's, so that would be where I would start. Head and clutching, that'll put a dent in your wallet, but won't be too bad....just my .02

I got my head milled at a local shop for a 100 bucks and it's a great mod. My compression in each cylinder previous was 114 and now they're each 150. Big difference for a pretty simple mod. And yes, clutching is a big change too. I had my primary swapped out and the shop also rewieghted the clutch as well. These are both great mods to take care of as far as hp gains and throttle response.

New aftermarket exhaust is good but pricey for a good set.

One of the first things that i would do if i were to build another m7 would be to switch the secondary clutch to the 10.4 This mod made a huge difference on my sled. I have a head on mine as well but didn't really feel that was as great of an addition as the larger secondary.

Ok this is my .02. First would be to clutch it. Bikeman torsional conversion with there black spring, regear the diamond drive 54/66 0r 57/63. Head I can get your stock head done for about $150. This is for high altitude. All these are seat of the pants difference.
I also have a set of D&D twins with silencer for sale $300 plus shipping.

I fixed mine with a rkt secondary kit. Also might want to check clutch rollers, weights and so forth.

reclutch with a 10.4 secondary of a 07 of 08 also i would mill the head 10 and also buy the slp intake it works well anything more and the price of parts go way up
hopefully this helps

For cheaper mods, RKT torsional conversion made a BIG difference on my stock M7, it was night and day before/after. Beyond that, it can start to get spendy. BMP pipe mod is relatively affordable, I wasn't disappointed with that pipe. Inline fuel reducer and/or timing key can bring some performance to the table too, but need to watch that a little bit so it doesn't get too lean on ya.

Edit: Mods are a slippery slope, at least for me...set a budget and stick to it!!
