06 M7 getting hot

My sled seems to get hot fairly easy. It doesnt get hot all the time but times when I have rode other sleds farther in the same condition with out them getting hot mine does get hot. I have ice scratchers and the side air vents but I was wondering what else I could do to help it stay cool or cool down easier. I have thought about a gage cage but what would be a good kind to get. Thanks for any help.

Pretty simple gut yer hood and put a vent in the center off the hood. Do a search for XXX mod rods on here for vents and ideas. Also check that yer coolant cap is actually getting a good seal, if its not it could be airlocking and the causes some issues too. slp makes nice flowrite vents for the shock towers and any side vent wopuld be good for your side panels. Hope this helps you...................

Also check to make sure your back cooler isn't bridging with snow. With scratchers on trails and hardpack mine does that all the time. Have to stop on a regular basis and knock the snow/ice loose under there so fresh snow can hit the coolers and cool it down.

Another thing you can do is put some of that "ice" coolant additive in. It helped mine to run about 9 or 10 degrees cooler.

I would guess your thermostat isn't functioning properly or you have air pocket in your cooling system, it shouldn't run warm with scratchers down I wouldn't think. Incline the front of the sled up 30-45 degrees and let it run for a while to get any air out.
