06 M7 153 cheap mods suggestions

Looking for away to boost my 06 M7 without having to spend to much. Would like to avoid installing a boondocker. Mainly ride at high elevations in CO. Any suggestions would be a great help. Thanks

One thing to make sure if you are going to do some mods on your M7 is that if the ECU has been reflashed they don't like Mods. I have seen people do a reflash on their sleds and they run worse if they have mods on them.

Let me know if there is anything else I can help you with

Jeff

Face it, if your going to start drawing out some noticable power chances are your going to need a box.

I would do a good set of vents, a 2-wheel kit (I made one for the wifes for free) maybe a power claw if you have the money.

Get your clutching spot on and ride the piss out of it.

Here is what I would suggest.
Xtreme Head mod send me your head and will have done $150
Slp Can $250
Clutching
68g
slp Black yellow primary $25
Orange secondary with shift assist.
No box required
Or
Boondocker box $419
Used SLP twins Ceramic coated That I have for Sale $350
and clutching.

These are good suggestions. As you see by my signature, I've got your sled and have done a number of mods.

Cheapest:
clutch springs/weights
side vents for breathing
milled head (got mine done for 100 bucks)

More expensive but good gains:
SLP twins and can
boondocker box
clutching
milled head

If you really need to narrow it down to one or two cheaper items I suggest getting your clutch tuned right with correct springs and weights and maybe a milled stock head for 100-200 dollars depending on where you bring it.

Clutch clutch clutch. I run the RK tek secondary made a huge differance. I also run a 06 M7 141. It now maintains track speed on a pull, track speed is also much better 38-42 mph

Port your track. This mod is free if you do it yourself. This mod decreases track mass by about 1.5lbs and really helps keep your rear suspension free of snow when conditions get sticky.

Buy used 800cc big bore. No fuel box needed if using stock pipe and airbox. Need to tweak clutches so get adjustable weights (buy ones that will work with mods listed later) and shift assist (or torsional kit). RKT and Racing Station kits work without fuel box. Sell stock parts you don't need. I think this is the cheapest way to get noticeable gains.

After an year you will be moaning for even more power and your sled still has potential. You can add pipe, timing key, fuel box, airbox etc and you'll be running with M8 -10.

Thanks for everyone's help, I really appreciate it! Keep them coming. Going to wait until I can ride it stock once this season and then start adding mods one by one, in order to see the real gain from each. I will post the results as I do them. Again thanks for all the advice!

Moosehead,

I have an 05 M6 153 with the RK Tek secondary and am unsure as to how to set it up correctly and tune it. The instructions that came with it are a bit confusing or it is that I am clueless to what to expect as it is my first sled. Any ideas or recommendations? I ride in Utah at 7k to 10k. Thanks in advance.

hi flying
when you set it up try the spring in the second to the tightest see how that feels also what spring is in the secondary
