06 M6 coolant in Cylinders

First I pulled the plugs out to check for spark tuned it over and coolant came out. So I pulled the head off this m6. The Cylinders are full of coolant. Cylinders walls look good and the pistons look good from the y-pipe and top. Looks to me like the inner o-ring failed one both sides and the head bolts didn't seem that tight. Working on this for a family member. My questions are:

If it was yours would you:
1) take it out and apart compleatly dry it out and replace pistons gaskets and head o-rings.
2) Take the cylinders off dry it out and put new pistons, Base gaskets and head o-rings.
3) Take the cylinders off dry it out and use old pistons, base gaskets and new head o-rings. (provided they look good once apart)

Also I did a search but couldn't find any threads on how to get the motor out.
I know there has to be some if you know let me know.

Thanks,
MB

Just found my head bolts were loose causing the coolant to leak. Lucky mine didn;t get into the cylinders.

I am not sure on the 06 but on the newer ones. You can unbolt the section of the bulkhead between the primary and the motor. Which saves on pulling the primary off the shaft.

Is the crankcase is full of coolant aswell?? How long has it been sitting with the coolant on the motor? If its been a period of time the bearings can start to rust.

DON"T FORGET to retorque the head bolts after you get it back together and run it for awhile. :)

Thanks,
It has had coolant in it for a week. She rode it last Saturday. Today was the first chance I had to look at it.
So you guys think use the old pistons or new ones
Thanks

One week with antifreeze in the case wouldn't make me even blink. I lost a base gasket recently and washed the case out with warm water, left motor in the sled used a turkey baster with hose attached to suck case empty, then I blew it out completely with compressed air and then hosed it out with carb clean and blew out again. Then make sure to slather the crank and rod bearings with 2 stroke oil before re-installing the top end. 3k is my number as well for piston replacement.
