Light bulb is good but i cant get brake light to work!!! Tail light or running light does but not when you hit brake! Any suggestions! Headed on a trip in 8 hours and ive racked my brain on it! Thanks!

Little micro switch for the brake might be shot. had that same problem with mine.

Its in the left handlebar control. u will have to remove the rubber piece over the handlebars then pull like 4 little screws from the plastic piece and it should sit in there held in with another screw i believe.
I could be wrong tho. its been awhile since i did it.

Should be number 8 in this pic.
If you unplug the switch, you can short the connector together to test the brake light.

If you haven't already... check the connector for the tail light under the fuel tank this spot keeps alot of moisture and I have had to clean corrosion off the connector pins twice now.
You won't have to remove the tank, just remove the 2 tank nuts and lift up the back end a little to find the connector.

Helping out cramer_da here and it's none of these issues. We have to dig deeper. Any more ideas would be helpful!
The brake light comes on when we ground the back of the taillight to the tunnel... Don't really know where to look now.
Found it. Broken wire coming out of the voltage regulator!
did you disconnect the plug at the brake and short the light side with the engine running? Did the brake light come on?
