06 900 SB track fitment

Hey guys. Search yielded no results...

How big of a track can I fit in my 2006 900 SB 144". ?? And keep stock drivers. And hopefully keep my tunnel protectors (1" sq tube riveted to tunnel)?? Don't plan on running this track all the time... just when conditions are favorable! I d like to leave my protectors installed and keep stock drivers, just to make track swapping faster/easier! Thanks!!

Good question on just how big of a track you can put on that sled but I have run a 2" track on my 06 900 S/B many times with the stock driver. Now, with that said - I dont have tunnel protectors on mine so I cannot say if that will be an issue or not.

Did you have any ice build up problems with the 2" track?? How was the 2" in "normal" snow/ packed trail conditions??

I'm thinking I'll go with some lower profile tunnel protectors... maybe some used hyfax?!

Unfortunately, I only used the 2" track when I went out west with the sled. Otherwise, I run a ripsaw track when riding around here (Wisconsin/Michigan U.P.). No issue with any ice build up while out west.

Did you have tunnel protectors installed when you ran the 2" track?? How tall were the protectors?
